FAQ

1. What makes Zacca Hummus different from other brands?

At Zacca Hummus, we believe that good food starts with great ingredients and a love for the planet. What sets us apart is our passion for quality, sustainability, and pure, clean ingredients. Our hummus begins its journey on our very own Zenner Family Farm, where we grow garbanzo beans with a focus on regenerative farming—because we believe in giving back to the earth as much as we take.

But the goodness doesn’t stop there. We use only top-notch olive oil, skipping the usual seed or vegetable oils, so each bite is bursting with rich flavor and heart-healthy fats. And because we care about what goes into your body, our hummus is free from artificial preservatives, gluten, and GMOs.

At Zacca Hummus, we're not just making hummus; we're crafting a snack that nourishes your body, honors the environment, and brings excellence to your table. That’s the Zacca difference. 🌱

2. What does sustainably farmed garbanzo beans mean?

Our garbanzo beans proudly carry certifications from both Food Alliance and Farm Smart, ensuring they meet the highest standards of environmental sustainability and regenerative farming. These certifications are a testament to our commitment to practices that nurture soil health and promote smart water management.

At Zenner Family Farm, we're all about regenerative farming. We use no-till methods to protect the land, with a focus on traceability and transparency—because we believe in preserving our earth for future generations. Thanks to our farm's vertical integration, our beans are identity-preserved, meaning you can trace them straight back to the fields where they were grown. It’s a special touch that makes our brand truly unique.

3. Is Zacca Hummus gluten-free and plant-based?

You bet! Zacca Hummus is both gluten-free and plant-based, making it a tasty and healthy choice for all kinds of dietary preferences.

4. Why is there an indentation in the center of your hummus tubs?

Let's talk about the purpose behind the unique indention in the middle of our 10oz tubs! You might have wondered if it’s a design quirk or some sort of fancy aesthetic feature. But nope, it’s our way of making sure you get the best tub ever!

The indention is a superstar in our HPP (High Pressure Processing) lineup. By having this nifty little dip, we can fill the tub completely, leaving minimal headspace. This means your tub is packed to the brim with 10oz of pure awesomeness, making every bite count!

So next time you spot that indention, you’ll know it’s our way of ensuring you get the freshest, fullest tub possible, thanks to some clever engineering and thoughtful design!

5. Why does my hummus sometimes have a slightly grainy texture?

That’s the beauty of fresh, farm-to-table goodness! We use garbanzo beans straight from our farm to keep the flavor and texture as natural as possible. Our minimal processing is all about letting the quality of our ingredients shine, which might mean a texture that’s a little less creamy than those overly processed or canned alternatives. It’s a small trade-off for the fresh, authentic taste you love!

6. When do your products expire?

Our hummus is best enjoyed when stored in the fridge and consumed by the Best By date on the packaging or within 30-60 days of purchase. Once you crack it open, be sure to savor it within 7 days.

7. Can I freeze your hummus?

Absolutely! You can freeze our hummus. You might notice a little separation when it thaws, but no worries—that's totally normal. Just give it a good stir, and you're good to go. Once opened, make sure to enjoy it within 7 days!

8. Do you use vegetable or seed oils in your hummus?

Nope, no vegetable or seed oils here! At Zacca Hummus, we're all about quality, which is why we use heart-healthy olive oil instead. Not only does it make our hummus taste amazing, but it also adds a rich source of healthy fats. We keep our recipes clean, simple, and true to our commitment to deliciousness and nutrition.
